Bitcoin’s third halving in history took place at 7:23 p.m. UTC on Monday, which reduced the Bitcoin block reward from 12.5 BTC to 6.25 BTC.
Some crypto experts predict that the new halving will force some miners to stop generating new Bitcoin, since a wide number of mining rigs will become outdated.
Just before the new Bitcoin halving, a number of miners had reportedly already shut down down the unprofitable equipment.
